Rules of the Pool
These important regulations are presented here for your convenience. For complete rules, see the official document (PDF file).
Inclement Weather
Weather plays a big part of how the pool is run. Being at the pool can be fun; however, safety is the Lifeguard's first priority.
Storms
At the sign of a storm, the pool will be cleared. Signs that we look for are any of the following:
Dark clouds
Thunder: If we hear thunder,
we will clear the pool.
Lightning: If we see lightning, the pool and deck area will be cleared
as well as the basketball court.
We are required to wait at least 30 minutes after
thunder and 30 minutes after seeing lightning before re-opening
the pool. This may seem like an inconvenience; however, it is for
your safety and the safety of your family.
Temperature
Pool and air temperature are another consideration of the status of the pool. If the air temperature falls below 70° Fahrenheit, the pool is required to close until the temperature stabilizes above 70° again.
Tips
If it has been storming, raining, or looks bad outside call ahead to the pool and see what the weather is like where we are.
If a storm rolls up while you are visiting the pool, don't automatically think we will close for the day. The staff has to wait to see if the storm will pass and if the pool is able to open back up again.
Guest Inconveniences
If you happen to bring a guest to the pool and a storm comes and the pool is required to close, you may be entitled to a refund of your guest fee. This refund is decided on a case by case basis by the manager(s) on duty.
